Since 2002, the Felician Sisters of North America have lovingly sponsored a ministry in this community. The Mooncrest after-school program started by Sr. Rene Procopio that year has evolved into Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs. In response to community need, MNP now provides a full spectrum of social services and support programs for children, individuals and families living in the area…all focused on revitalizing the neighborhood.
Adult and family services run throughout the year and include mobile medical services courtesy of the Squirrel Hill Health Center, childbirth classes through MAYA organization, GED and ESL programs in association with Literacy Pittsburgh, food access supported by 412 Food Rescue, the West Hills and Coraopolis Food Pantries, the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank and several local churches in addition to community Faith-sharing, and a variety of wellness and social events.
Mooncrest Neighborhood Programs is proud to serve the spirited and resilient residents of our community.
